Hi! I’m Jiahui, I am a stamp artist and illustrator, and I live in Singapore. I never went to art school (but I did earn a First Class Honours Degree in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore).
I specialize in converting daily sights and thoughts into illustrations, and carving them into rubber stamps. My time is divided between commissioned work, designing and selling my handcrafted stamps on my Etsy shop (www.parademade.etsy.com) and at makers’ markets, in addition to ogling at art prints on Pinterest.
I have a diverse background ranging from education to trees to organic chemistry to calligraphy and these are often featured in my work. My style is hugely playful with a touch of humour, though sometimes a little geeky as you might expect of an ex-scientist.
In 2012, I started ParadeMade to share my love for crafty happyness and all things made by hand. At ParadeMade, I share my work and write about the interesting (sometimes random) sights and thoughts on my adventures and travels, within and beyond Singapore. I am especially attracted to good food, colourful cultures, historical buildings and patterns. My favourite colours are pink, mint and grey.
Enjoy your time here!
