Homemade Almond Butter for $4

Homemade nut butters are all over the Internet and I’m very glad to have jumped onto the bandwagon before it left without me! Nut butters are incredibly easy to prepare, and at a fraction of the price they would cost at a gourmet grocer. They’re packed with all the nutritious goodness without unnecessary additives and flavourings, AND they taste sooooo good.

The instructions to make this almond butter called for only two ingredients – almond nuts, and a pinch of salt (literally). I bought the almonds from the dried goods market at Bugis, costing SGD$4 for 200g of almonds – makes a jar of creamy butter like below!

Note down the 'manufacturing date' with a marker and consume the butter within a month.

Now that I have aced my almond butter experiment, I shall move onto macadamia and other awesome nuts next! 🙂
